ahh, ytd went to catchup wif gl and gang.. walk walk + movie..
movie: BEOWOLF
For a movie that is based legendary figures, this movie lacks the pure punch as compared to its predecessors, namely 300, troy and king arthur. As its the first animated movie of its kind, i had expected more spectacular action scenes and better scenery than that was on show.. well, was kinda disappointed, perhaps by the animation..
The animated action seems rather fake.. but kudos to animators for making such realistic "human characters", esp angelina jolie.. vry life-like.
if u r looking to marvel at newage animation technology, this is probably the show for u.. if not, this show lacks the engaging storyline to keep u interested..

watched stardust ytd wif bren after gym/ swim.. but ytd cos was writing abt the last episode of atk no.1 thats y this "review" is delayed until today.
aniwayz, the movie is abt the adventure of this young boy into a fantasy realm of which magical beings reside. He ventures into the realm following in his dad's footsteps (his dad went in and made love wif a woman there, leading to his birth, u see...), but the reason of this was to please a local gurl by bringing her the remains of a shooting star.. using a babylon candle left to him by his mom, he found the star, tho somehow, the "star" has a human manifestation -.-|| quite cute one at that.. they went thru some adventures, including travelling wif a "badass" ship captain, escaping frm a evil witch who wants to eat the "star" to gain everlasting youth.. Eventually, the boy ends up wif the star? and he somehow becomes the king of the magical kingdom? as his mom was the lost princess and he was the last surviving heir of the treacherous backstabbing royal family..
sorta a all-too-perfect kinda ending bahz? somehow feel something real is lacking.. but, heck, its a kid's show after all... its a gd movie if you wan to jus sit back and relac to watch..

wee.. went to gym and swim today sia.. rather tired.. but jus finished the last episode of "Attack No. 1" based on this popular jap manga abt this girl who aspires to be a top volleyball player..
A short summary:
The girl's (ayuhara kozue) journey started when she got selected to go for a "national team training camp" ahead of her team, fujimi's, star player, midori. Troubles build up as jealousy takes over the hearts of her fellow teammates who felt that she wasnt gd enuff for it. Tho, she became captain of the national team, by some sort of weird twist, eventually the EVIL team coach decided to send her back home (it was later revealed that he wanted her to suffer some setbacks to become more established as a person as well as a player). She went into depression and was "awoken" by tsutomu, the son of a ramen shop owner and midori's childhood best buddy (as well as someone she secretly admires). midori sees the "interactions" between the two and gets jealous. kozue rescues her "seniors" frm harassment frm a old man by pushing him awy, causing some injury. He pursues the matter to the sch authority and the jealous midori tips off the principal, causing midori to be suspended. Meanwhile, midori heads off to the national team training to substitute kozue.
This incident allowed kozue to be accepted by her fujimi teammates again. However a turn of events resulted in the captain, oonuma, to be dropped as she took the responsibility for the atk of the old man by kozue and the fujimi volleyball club facing disbanding if they fail to win the nationals. meanwhile, midori returns frm training camp but as she was too ashamed to go back, she joins another sch instead. kozue becomes the captain and leads her team all e way to the finals where they faced a battle wif midori's new team (got another national team member sia). oonuma returns thanks to the "Evil" coach's persuasions to the stupid old man and tsutomu died while travelling to watch kozue play.. A tough and close encounter led to fujimi losing but, as they performed well and showed promise, the team was allowed to stay on.
Kozue gets called back to the national squad. However she injures herself.. She was forced to drop out, but she went ahead wif reconstructive surgery and thru tough rehabilitation, she managed to get back her fitness and was finally selected as "first team" in the national team's first match against brazil. *end credits showed kozue's "improved" spiking skills, esp a "dropping missile" spike, for which the brazil team has no chance..*
some afterthought:
it was overall a nice piece of drama wif ups and downs, but personally i wud haf liked to see a prominent male lead towards the end as the role was left vacant ever since tsutomu passed awy. And also, just showing the starting of the first match in the internationals does nt do kozue justice, for she had trained long and hard.. At least can show some other ppl she beat and japan getting to some finals or something liddat..
highly recommended to watch

siannnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn............. now officially stay-out personnel liao.. today first time try the morning traffic.. turns out the mrt route wun work for me -.-||| mus try another route, perhaps a mixed one bahz... hopefully the first 74 bus will let me get to camp on time? haizzzz... if nt die die nid to stay in liao ler.. something which i dun realli mind, except that there wun be anyone to stay wif me bahz... hahaz... try lor.. ask arnd for a bunk.......... till then, tink i will turn in back in my own den at hougang bahz..
anywayz, i am back for good for the rest of the weekend.. took my hari raya off today (fri) bahz.. so tat it wun expire, and since next fri is my "guard" duty.. ZZZZZzzzzz.... sian bahz... hmm.. tink tis is gonna be yet another stone at home cos got nth else betta to do kinda off days.. HAHA.. darn... realli nid a hobby sia.... -.-|
